Porsche to showcase cars at Clark Speedway

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE— Clark Development Corporation President Felipe Antonio Remollo bared that the famous sports car maker from Germany will showcase different units soon at the Clark International Speedway inside the Freeport Zone.

The various models of Porsche, about 20 units that will run at the speedway, is part of promoting Clark as sports tourism destination.

The announcement was made by Remollo during the launched of the July 19 Sports Tourism Summit inside Clark recently. The event is sponsored by CDC, Selrahco Management and Consultancy Corporation, Department of Tourism –III, Smart, ROX, Philippine Gaming and Amusement Corporation, Pampanga’s Best, among others.

The showcasing of the German-made sports cars will be in cooperation with the Porsche Centre Philippines – PGA Cars, Inc., the government-run CDC, and the Clark Speedway.

The race track in Clark is FIA-accredited racing venue for Formula 3 and other racing events open in 2007.

Porsche Centre Philippines was formally inaugurated on 24 February 2005. A 3,000-square-meter facility was then established in full compliance with the strict corporate identity guidelines of Dr. Ing.h.c. F. Porsche AG. It fully communicates the brand values of Porsche and quickly became the new home for Porsche enthusiasts in the Philippines. The Porsche Centre has a showroom displaying the latest Porsche Boxster, Cayman, 911, Cayenne, and Panamera models as well as a Lifestyle corner showcasing the most current Porsche Design Driver’s Selection items.

The sports tourism promotion of Clark is among the agenda of Remollo to boost tourist arrivals and position the former US-run Clark Air Base as a sports haven in the country through the of various sporting events.
