Hole in the Wall: Home of biker trash, outlaws and bandits. "Kind of a pub tavern setting with a couple of GRO's. The menu is not huge but really all you want is steak. We all ordered Porterhouse steak and a plate of super nachos. We told the waitress 3 times bring the nachos out first while we wait for steak "yeah yeah yeah" she kept responding. And of course the steaks come out first on a sizzling hot plate. I had asked for medium rare but while they fucked around with whose steak is whose it was well done by the time it got to me. Did not complain coz the waitress was very cute. Guess you cant have everything in one package. The steak was very nice and a meal in its self so no real need for side orders. It was an 18oz and cost 300 peso good value. Super nachos were great when they finally came. Another moan I must put in is that the music is deafening. We asked the waitress to turn it down she told the Filipino bartender who was not wearing a shirt or much for that matter. I guess he took offense to our request and turned the music up. We just ignored him." Oz the Pom (10/2003). "After a multi year search, I can finally report that there is a restaurant in town that grills a really good T-bone steak. I was VERY surprised. It was absolutely great. But I feared that it might have been an anomaly. So in the last three weeks I have returned and each time the steak was excellent. They actually have two steaks on the menu: an 18oz, one inch thick steak for 300P and a 36oz, two inch thick steak for 600P. I've only tried the 18oz because I do not have a 36oz appetite. My steak came with the usual choice of two side orders. So far, I have tried the mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and french fries. All were well prepared and the mixed vegetables were actually crisp and tasty. Service in the place was fast. I had a cold beer in hand in less than two minutes and a sizzling steak in front of me in less than ten minutes. You can get this steak marinated in what they call the chef's secret spices or just a regular grilled steak. On my first trip, a guest who was with me ordered a regular steak and I ordered it with the secret spices. She was really enjoying her steak until I suggested we each swap a small piece of each other's so that we could compare for future orders. Both of us agreed that the secret spice steak is the way to go for all future orders. I ordered mine medium and I got it medium. The cuts of meat were so good that I could not believe I was eating this in AC. The restaurant actually had decent steak knifes which made cutting the piece up easy. My hat goes off the the entire staff at the Hole in the Wall and especially to the manager Rady. He is running a high quality operation and will be rewarded with a lot of my future business." PJ01 (11/2003). "The location is in that new structure built with entrances on Santos Street and Gloria Street. (where Lollipop Bar formerly was). If you are even remotely homesick to that good old fashioned home-style western cooking, you've got to park your cot in the Hole and feed your heart to happiness. I have not tried the Filipino dishes on the multiple-page menu, that is easy to read and plentiful in variety for all tastes. The taste! OH THE TASTE! The pizza comes in two sizes, the small size being ultra small, about 5 inches in diameter and very good. The steak is simply superb in both taste and cooked to your specifications. It's an excellent value for approximately five and a half USD. The potatoes are cooked to perfection as well. If you want to be drawn to tears, order the meat loaf. The taste, texture, juiciness is absolutely superb. The mashed potatoes are excellent with the best gravy I have had in AC. Another winner are the meatballs. Not the large loose crumbly kind, rather the smaller chewier format. Delicious and easy to eat with a delicious mildly spicy bbq sauce. It is clearly apparent that the kitchen did not merely take the same ground-meat-mix for the meat loaf and simply form it into meatballs. The two items are distinctly different in taste. The metalloid also comes with a few small slices of French garlic bread that was both flavored perfectly, and not toasted too much, nor too little. The hamburgers at the Hole are as close to perfection as can be. Absolutely perfect taste and texture. Not too chewy and not too crumbly, and the taste is par none. The food comes within 20 minutes and arrives looking fresh and nicely presented. The portions are generous, without being too large. The chicken dishes are not overcooked, and still juicy. The cook at the Hole should be kissed repeatedly. I frequent and enjoy cooking at home almost regularly - particularly dinner, but the Hole has been severely coaxing me to eat out more in the evenings. The atmosphere, the friendliness of the bartenders, manager and doorman, and the taste and quality of the food menu at the Hole makes this an excellent place to hang out between 4:00pm and 3:00am. The waitresses accept LDs and I was advised that some will BF, but IMHO the primary selling feature of the Hole is the food and the atmosphere. You not too frequently see Filipinos and foreigners hanging out friendly together, but they do in the Hole. Good vibes and good food abounds at the Hole. It is the ideal place to kick back and relax during an evening of bar hopping or simply a friendly evening out. Quite a few couples frequent this place and the atmosphere is super comfortable." Heaven: Blow Row. "First stop....Santos street...get that first urge out of the way ... after arriving at the Heaven Bar on Santos I found a great little hoover named Vanessa and she took care of me in a matter of minutes... 400 pesos." Chuck. "Heaven Bar has 2 superstars working there..Louisa and Vannessa (also Arylin is quite the Hoover)." ST charlie

Hollywood: Private Dancer Too, later named Exotica, was split into two bars. The left half is Hollywood and the right half is Blueberry Hill.

Honey Ko's: GRO, Perimeter Road bar. "A local hangout because the beers are cold and cheap and the women are warm and cheap also." The Duke. "I went to honey ko's one night and it was packed with girls and had a great lineup. Des the papasan introduced himself and seemed friendly and informative on a few questions I had about some of the girls there. There is one dancer there who is tall and has huge tits (really nice ones). A little too much on the lady drink pressure though and the waitresses can be pushy about giving you a massage. I had to practically peel two 40-year-old waitresses off of me and say no." corpsman (05/2002). "One thing very noticeable in this bar is the lack of lighting in the back area, allowing for some what I'd call extracurricular activities." Big Jim (10/2002). "I never fail to have fun in this place. Management is keen on seeing their customers happy. The girls tend to be closer to 25 and up agewise but you will usually find a few good-lookers in here. There will be a few young girls but they are the exception. There is a back room with a couple of pool tables. Take a girl back there to play pool and she will get really raunchy. You can make some interesting side wagers here if you are a pool player. Back room available." Dave (06/2003)

Honky Tonk: Small bar on Blow Row (A. Santos Street). "Took 2 girls from Honky Tonk for LT (2000 piso) back to my hotel. They disappeared after half an hour. Talk about runners, these could be in the Olympics!" Kisserman (11/2003). "Spent enough time in the Honky Tonk to set the record straight. There is a ST room. The women also have their own room, told me they use the ST room for business and usually don't use their own. I'm sure there are exceptions. At least 6 girls working in this bar. The mamasan is the sister of the Longhair Brothers. LT during my visit was reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours. They make more money wearing those women's jaws out, so you know the proprietors are not overly enthusiastic about customers taking the goods for 24 hours, as the girls are available around the clock when on premise. Tried my best too talk many of those girls out of the Santos St scene, to go elsewhere, anywhere. It's hard. They look on the place as family, it's all they got. They are being fucked over. More guys need to take more of those girls off grounds and expose them to other bars. I did not meet one girl with an attitude that is discussed else where. But the sleaze factor does begin to wear on you when watching them in action. In and out of the rooms. I have a real affection for the Santos St girls. So damn easy to just sit and shoot the shit all day with them. I had a $100 bill in my pocket and needed change. The cashier took off and came back 15 minutes later with going rate, and receipt. If you have a 500.00 peso bill, if they don't have change, rest assured they will get it. The $100 bill was a 1996 series. Place is usually visited by friendly Expats of all varieties... Brits, Norweigians, Swedes... on and on.... Talk about a melting pot." bartolo (11/2003)
