Garfield's
: 5-6 GRO's, no dance floor/stage, zero pressure for drinks, nice decor for a Perimeter Road bar. "Owned by a Scotsman named Allan Cobb. Seems to be a decent guy, and proves that the myth about all Scots having short arms and deep pockets is not always true, as he buys drinks for his customers!!" bluewidget. "Cute schoolgirl uniforms. Look for Merly." Nick (03/2002). "The thing is that Garfield's pays pretty good salaries, and the girls do get a lot of LDs. So the girls can afford to be very picky. Because of the relatively decent income they can earn by just hustling LDs, they don't need to go barfine all that much. And the term hustling LDs is really a misnomer--LD pressure is virtually non-existent at Garfield's. A girl (or several) will sit with you at your table and chat with you, yet no one will ever ask you if you would like to buy a drink for any of them." Jungle Jim (08/2005)

Gecko's (formerly Y-Bar): Owner is Angelo. "There was a stretch of time that I thought this bar consistently had the highest percentage of lookers in town, kind of like a small version of Champagne (same owners at the time, I think). During that time I got to know a couple of the waitresses pretty well and it became something of a hangout place for me. Ownership changed (about 7 or 8 months ago?) and apparently the mamasans left and took most of the girls with them. When I was there in May the place was hurting for girls and two I barfined left for another bar before my trip was over. They have recovered, but were hardly noteworthy in the stunner department. They have wiped the mirrors clean of the lists of bell ringers and now put little green geckos on the ceiling to denote them. I have never understood the mental defect (or possessed the extravagant wealth) that causes someone to ring the bell, but those that do so for the marquee listing will probably be disappointed because the gecko acknowledgements are very small, go largely unnoticed and are almost impossible to read unless you are directly beneath one. They have a theme song here. When it plays the girls get excited and they do a choreographed dance to it. Even the off shift dancers will get up and do the dance on the floor in front of the stage. It has a good effect because there is a kind of electricity that goes through the place when they do it. Many times girls from other bars would get up and dance along too. I’m surprised more bars don’t encourage their girls to dance with something like this. If the choreography was a little more provocative (more hip gyration and body movement, less hand gestures and dance steps) it could be quite effective. A girl with some moves is far more appealing than one just standing or swaying. I also took a tag team from here one night." Ohly (12/2002). "Just got back from 2 weeks in AC. Worst bar was Gecko's. When it was Y bar it was my favorite. Anyway, went in on a Friday night, no customers, only the owner. As the girls where dancing very nicely I bought them all ladies drinks --11 girls on stage and 2 sitting on chairs. Not only did the owner not say anything, but the mama came over and said in a nasty voice that will be 1600+p and pay now which I did and then left." Stu (03/2003). "A couple of babes that seem to get barfined early, otherwise a mediocre crew." Patrick (04/2003). "Haven't been here in months and it was better than ever. The ladies here always seem to have a playful, fun attitude and I saw one here that really caught my eye. They also have one dancer with the biggest rack in town, if you're into that." Tomkat2000 (08/2003). "I spoke quite a bit with the owner. Cool guy, he's from Ohio and works as a traveling magician. When he said that, I was like huh? My barfine from Gecko's didn't exactly work out for me. She had no interest in fulfilling the insinuated barfine obligation. I did not push the issue, I just let her go on her way. She was a sweet girl and I did like her. I didn't want to get her in trouble with her boss, better to just move on. She had told me she was not a cherry girl, so not sure what the problem was. All my other barfines were happy in following through with their assumed obligations." Steve (12/2003)

Gentlemen's Club: Perimeter Road bar. "The Gentleman's club has some gorgeous dancers. An added attraction is that they will periodically doff both top and bottom of their bikinis." Patrick (04/2003)

Golden Gate: Closed 11/2001. To reopen as Amore.

G-Spot: Closed and sold to another American who plans to reopen it as Cheetah's. Daddy Tom was sent off to Camp Bagong Diwa prison in Manila.
