Dollhouse (formerly Wet Seals, Cottontails, Love Boat, Titanic): Open 02/11/2005. Large go-go bar on Field Avenue with P1200 and P3000 bar fines. It plans to operate 24 hours. "They have a round stage in the middle like Las Vegas. The girls were decent in looks and body. Not a lot of fat bellies (like to argue that it is not Jollibee but too many chips and soft drinks) like a few other big bars in town. There are three types of entertainment. About eight girls dance a choreograph couple of songs. Then a single girl dances to a couple of songs. Then a different group of about 15 girls dance on the dance floor." worm (02/2005). "I can't understand why anyone would build a replica of the Pick-Up, which is the biggest white elephant in Angeles." loco motive (02/2005). "Stepped into Dollhouse and I have to say I was not impressed. It is a duplicate of Las Vegas club with a second floor added. Maybe it will survive off the tourist trade, guys that don't know any better. I actually feel sorry for the owners. I heard they spent a small fortune renovating the old Wet Seals Bar (which was a dive) and I don't see how they will ever recover their investment except to sell the rights to the place to some other unsuspecting foreigner." Sliderule (02/2005). "A very nice, modern bar, well thought out (except for that damn step on the way to the CR). Pool players also like the two pool tables away from the action. My HK and I stop in for a few drinks almost every time we barhop. Clay and Derek have a winner on their hands." Confetti Jim (02/2005). "Their entire lineup of Show Girl Dancers have a price tag of P3K each." Freddy Hotdog (03/2005). "According to a news report by Peter Alagos published in the Manila Standard, Clay and Derek were arrested when Angelo Turla, dummy owner of the bar, wrote a letter to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin exposing a cybersex chat room upstairs. According to the report, each man had to pay P3 million to get released from jail." Editor (06/2005)

DMZ Bar
: Smallest go-go bar on lower Fields Avenue. It has 2 pool tables and a snack menu. Run by a former US Marine. Pool tables stay busy most of the evening. Renovated, with the dance floor now in the center of the main room. The quality of the girls is fair to poor. Not one good looker in the place. The girls push very hard for drinks. "TOO MANY CHERRY GIRLS!!!!! The ones that were not cherries were not very attractive." Bubba. "I believe it is the only bar in Fields Avenue that has operated with the same name for 20 years. Until a year or so ago, it looked as though it was operating with the same furniture and girls as well but it has now been renovated and seems a pleasant enough place." JohnD (10/2002)

Dirty Duck (formerly Dolphin Street Bar, Happy Hooker): Open April 14, 2002. This bar opens early in the afternoon. They have one-way glass picture windows on the front so you can sit in aircon comfort and watch the girls strolling to work. Fairly small club with a low ceiling, but packed with dancers and waitresses. "It's been totally gutted and completely redone. The inside makes excellent use of a smaller than usual Angeles City bar. There is plenty of seating around the fairly large dance stage (holds 12 dancers quite easily) and a goodly number of perimeter bench seats. Being a converted non smoker, I pay attention, and am sensitive, to the ventilation. It can be a problem in small bars, but Dirty Duck is just fine with me. Excellent air conditioning and excellent ventilation. It looked like they had 25 or so dancers and ABOUT THE SAME NUMBER OF WAITRESSES. Boy, there are a ton of them. Thommo, the owner, assures me he'll get the balance correct one of these days. His right hand man, Wayne, is another affable Aussie and they make a very good team. The bar's open from 2 PM till 3 AM so we now have another daytime bar down at this end of town. Food's available from (where else?) Kokomo's. They have a snack and pizza menu." Mo (04/2002). "And no shit, The Duck right now is the best little bar in AC." Crumple (07/2002). "They might as well call it Ugly Duck; the girls were just that. There was more loose meat on that stage than in Berettos. The dancers faces were downright homely, and the waitresses were worse." Norman (01/2003). "I know, I know, I have made fun of it before by naming it the Ugly Duck (see above) because of its sub-standard lineup, but I gotta give credit where it is due. Dirty Duck is possibly one of the few bars in AC that is full of customers ALL THE TIME. Even before its lineup dramatically improved, it was always crowded. Yes, the place is quite small, but empty is empty. Just ask the people at Cambodia Bar what empty means. Why is Dirty Duck packed with customers? Top-notch ATTITUDE. The customers love it, cause they love the girls and the atmosphere. Even many expats that usually collect on Perimeter Road bars, and who would never be caught dead in any Fields bars, will patronize the Dirty Duck. Most importantly - The girls at D.D. have improved in looks and are utterly awesome in attitude. Drop into the place - fight for a seat, and enjoy the show." Norman (10/2003)

Dolphin Street Bar (formerly Happy Hooker): Closed 11/01. Reopened as Dirty Duck (see above).

Duke of York: New location. Now on Santos Street Blow Row. "Duke of York has some fun gals, and the owner has been there for thirty years, and still plays golf." Richard (10/2003)

Dunk Shot (at Marlim Mansions Hotel): Dunk Shot moved from a relatively small bar to a very large building across the street. It's huge. Probably 10X what they had in Marlin Mansions. And here's the interesting part of the saga. They charge P100 for a local drink and I have no idea about ladies drink prices or TG fees, but am sure it's proportional to the local drink charge. Stick to Fields Ave. You'll save a bundle. Oh yea, the show consists of 1 girl dancing at a time taking 20 minutes to get her gear off.
