a steak at Mo's Steakhouse as far as I'm concerned." Mawi Mike

I'll keep going down Field, and hit Real Plaza later

Roadhouse: One of the most unique bars in Angeles City. Literally transported piece by piece from Ermita, Roadhouse was one of the first bars to open after Pinatubo. The staff are efficient and friendly and they have the best rock and roll video collection and sound system in town. "I've been in the place at least a dozen times. It's a miserable bar with old music played too loud. The lineup is small, 7 dancers on stage and 7 off. Most of the girls are homely and on the heavy side. Some have stretch marks. People say what a great CR the place has. I don't care about the damn shitter in any bar. This one is not so great. They got a male attendant in there. I don't need any help holding my dick when I'm peeing, thank you." Nick "Biggest disappointment was The Roadhouse. This used to be my favorite in all of AC but they didn't have too many girls the night I went and the 'robot' dancing they do has gotten old over time. The bar being between the customer and the stage also kills any verbal interaction with the dancers. I'd still say check it out for the 'Thunerstruck' dance towards the end of the night but do your 'shopping' elsewhere first." Wanderer. "Has gone down hill fast. The girls seem to think that they are doing you a favor by sitting down and talking to you." Bubba "I really don't think you go to the Roadhouse for the girls. Most people go there to drink with Mark and also to drink and not get hassled for lady's drinks." Bill. "The dancers are more than stand-offish. They're downright stuck-up lately. They think it's a privilege for you to have their company or barfine them. IMHO I'll spend my money elsewhere. Not a bad place for a hang-out and a beer, but if I want to play games I can do it back home for free! Those girls have to get to get their act straightened out and remember what their job is - to fuck their barfines!" Stiff Richard. "Roadhouse has several advantages. Firstly it is unique in AC, there is no other place like it in AC or in the Philippines. Love it or hate it, that is a fact. Secondly, because it is run according to certain standards and because certain rules are enforced this means that you are less likely to get any hassles or game playing from the girls, staff, etc. Thirdly, the customer always knows what to expect from a visit to Roadhouse. Many customers appreciate this bars consistency. Fourthly, Roadhouse plays music for the customers not for the girls. Of course being from a younger generation the girls cannot really relate to the music so they have developed the line dancing or synchronized dancing (as it is sometimes called) routines. Whether you like this dancing style or not is merely a matter of personal taste. Fifthly, when the girls are bought a drink they will often stay dancing then come down and thank you later. There are a number of reasons for this not the least of which is that they do not have an abundance of dancers as in some other bars so the girls will often choose to finish their 'set' or 'group' before coming down to talk to you. This way the stage stays active. Often they will wait for you to physically call them down. Doing it this way ensures that there is never any unwarranted pressure to buy ladies drinks. The down side of this is that the girls can sometimes seem aloof but in my experience 'seem' is the operative word here. When you get to know them a little bit, Roadhouse girls are anything but aloof. Sixthly, the emphasis in Roadhouse is on drinking and partying on with the boys, whereas in other bars it is on the attainment of female companionship. Of course Roadhouse offers female companionship but the emphasis is not placed here. As Mark said some time back, Roadhouse is a drinking bar. In short Roadhouse is unique and it has carved out a definite market segment. Not everybody likes it but as the old saying goes 'you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.' For every 1 person who doesn't like it there seems to be 2 who do, that is why it is one of the most visited bars in AC. Also a lot of the guys with money to spend tend to gravitate to Roadhouse. The so called 'big spenders' like the atmosphere. I have had numerous discussions with Mark regarding Roadhouse and the bar business in general, suffice to say we do not always agree. I however, have to give credit where credit is due. Roadhouse has been there for quite some time, it has developed a loyal following of guys who love the bar and spend good money there. Lastly, there is also a high level of loyalty amongst the girls. Roadhouse 'is what it is' and always will be. The rest is up to the customer." mjibbo

Private Dancer: The former Illusions. Closed briefly and changed its name 01/2003. Wolf remains as the owner.

Butterfly: Located just a bit down the alley behind Illusions. This place goes up and down. Sometimes they have some great staff and other times it's atrocious. Right now, it's in between. One Saturday, walked into the place and all the seats were filled with Filipino men. We wasted no time in leaving.

Harro's: Closed. Formerly Good Guys, Shooters. (06/2004)

The Jungle (formerly Connections): The owners have done wonders for Jungle. Unfortunately, their long time manager left recently and it remains to be seen what effect this will have on the business. The girls are good to very good. (08/2002)

Bunny Ranch (formerly Monte Carlo): "First of all, it's very well done inside. Top quality everything. From the covering of the seats to the floor tiles to the great mirrors and the beautiful decor. It's really a classy place. There must be enough air conditioning to store meat. The place can handle ANY size crowd and it won't get warm. Like any new bar, they're going through some 'pain'. Daddy William had no idea what would work and what wouldn't. Mostly everything works. When looking at the place, I think I might have done a few things differently. But all-in-all, I think this place is fantastic." Mo

The Kitten Club: Open 07/2000. The old Valhalla. "The Kitten Club is a very clean and well decor place. The girls are great looking as well. They won't allow photos so I think the manager is losing some free advertisement. The only shots you could take would be very tasteful so I am not sure what the problem is but then that is his call." seram. "Not too many dancers in here and hardly any were good looking." Bubba

Alaska Club: Formerly Bahama Mama's, Byrd Cage. Stop in for a look.

Brown Sugar: Reopened 02/2001. Newest addition to the Champagne Group of bars. Completely remodeled. The owner, Horst, is using the same formula he uses at Champagne and Volcano. He packs the stage with girls of only average appearance. At one time he had the usual assortment of great looking waitresses, but now they are average. Mommy Jinky left KOD to join them and took several stunners with her, but they recently returned to Mo's Group (08/2002). "The new Brown Sugar opens at 2 PM and yesterday I counted 47 customers at 5 PM.  Great lineup, good aircon, good music, great management, P125 ladies drinks... what more could we ask for?  IMO this is one of the top 2-3 clubs in town right now and it seems to be improving daily." JC. "This is definitely an up and coming bar. The makeover from the old Ziggy's is startling. The atmosphere is very warm and comfy--kind of lounge-like. Good lineup of dancers, and very attentive wait staff. As word gets out I think this will become one of the most popular bars in town." Jungle Jim. "'Brown Shu-GAR, come inside sir'. And come inside we do. It's kinda quiet customer-wise but a stage packed full o' honeys. I made a mistake that after 2 years of bar hopping I should know better. I asked for a vodka and cranberry. 5 minutes later that's what I got. One glass of vodka, and one cranberry. Cute." F A (05/2002)

Camelot: Open 11/2002 at the location of the former TQ. "I dropped in to the latest new super bar on Fields Ave. CAMELOT tonight and here was my impression: Camelot looks like an inflated version of Cambodia, almost as if the designer built Camelot as an apology for design flaws in Cambodia. The duplication is unashamedly complete with miles of fake stone lining all the walls and lots of fabric-covering everywhere, same JBL speakers as Blue Nile, complete with large screen TV (ala Neros) and fake fluttering-silk lamp-torches (ala Blue Nile) For the positive, line of sight to the single wall-length stage is perfect from every corner of the room INCLUDING the upstairs balcony (labeled VIP only??) The metal railings erected all over the place seem like they were the largest single consumer of the construction/design cost budget. Upstairs upholstered benches are installed down the center of the balcony so the waitresses / other customers can walk behind where you're sitting as opposed to walking and blocking the view in front of you. Brilliant idea. It's a shame there is nothing much too look at. A few girls borrowed from Brown Sugar next door (which by the way, has really improved their lineup. The beauties are back at Brown sugar!) but almost every single one of them (except for one cherry) looked like they were very severely beaten with an ugly stick. How do you start off a new club with girls who look like that? Also, a club of this size (similar size to Blue Nile) should have more than 60 total dancers, don't you think? There was about 30 waitresses who were absolutely nothing special to look at. (very uncharacteristic for the Champagne group) The waitress uniform is a baggy, lightweight cotton, pygama-style long blouse (which is supposed to look medieval, but does not) with a long black skirt that looks almost padded by the way it hangs off the girl's waists. After writing-off the facial beauty (or lack thereof) of the waitresses, you can't even see if they have half-decent bodies to salvage the overall impression. They are dressed like school teachers or church choir girls. (if that turns you on). Whoever designed the uniforms should really rethink their motives. They could have come up with some more suitable and sexy uniforms. The dancer's bikinis could have had some buckles or chains on them to echo the medieval theme. There seems to be an uneven balance between customer seating and stage-capacity. Oodles of customer seats, but a comparatively small and narrow stage. If somehow they got a full house of customers, there would not be a fair ratio of girls dancing. Complete wasted space on top of the bar for a stuffed horse and knight. It could have been an additional large stage connected to the upper balcony. I am not here to look at a stuffed animal all night, I'm here to see the girls, dammit! The distance from stage to seats guarantees an out of touch feeling for those customers seated on the benches on the wall opposite the stage. Sitting on the upper balcony, you feel as if you are over in the next building-it's that far, although a clear view of the stage. LD pressure was non applicable as most of the waitresses were too busy folding thousands of napkins (as if they were expecting an army of sex tourists to storm the place - wishful thinking, unless they were blind tourists). I also couldn't tolerate staying in there long enough looking at those sorry girls. Camelot may aspire to divert the glitz and traffic from lower Fields back to upper Fields, but upper Fields has never impressed me much, other than Brown Sugar. Camelot would have been another excuse to hang out in the upper part, but it falls short of the mark by miles and miles. Fill the place with decent-looking girls, spruce-up the uniforms to make the girls and club look more desirable, and then give me a call. For now, Lower Fields is still king of the hill. But you never know, let's give em a chance to work out the bugs and I'll pay Camelot another visit in a couple of weeks. One constant thing about AC is change. Let's hope Camelot changes for the better. It would be a shame to waste such a pretty place." Norman (11/2002)

Mr. T. Patio Bar: Closed 06/2003.

Insomnia (formerly Voodoo): Open 7/01. Owner is the Insomnia Group Corp. There is a 'marketing alliance' between them and Roadhouse and Confetti's, but other than having each other's beer mats in all the bars it is hard to see what the alliance is bringing. (07/2002). "Shit this place has died! 6 slappers shuffling in front of 3 mismatched ashtrays. The cute girls have gone, a shroud hangs from the stage and the bell looks despondent in its embarrassing loneliness. Even the décor has done a runner." AnonyNoNic (09/2003). "Just been to Insomnia today, filled up with Filipino men. Asked a girl if her boyfriend was there and she said yes to Jung who is the daytime manager. What a shit place to be honest. I don't like hanging around Filipino guys with their girlfriend working the customers. Get a grip of your business or lose us. I'm staying here for two weeks at Kokomo's so I don't hide away. I'm just being honest." Frode Multeberg (10/2003). "I spent a few hours very late in the morning at Insomnia, boy has it changed since the last time I was there, girls where a blast and a lot of fun and full of energy for Four in the morning. Manager Dennis has the place going great guns and plenty of girls to choose from, had no cherry or mens problems it was hard to knock back the girls who all keen to bar fine, wife not real keen on me bringing someone home! In general it was a lot of fun and well worth a look and a few beers, the rest will take care of itself." Harro (08/2005)

The Club: "The Club is so dead that many people don't even realize it is still open." Tomkat2000 (02/2003). "Lot's of girls for such a small place but all were below average. There was only one girl that would have fallen on my backup list but only because she had a great set of susus." Progman (10/2003)

Margarita Station (formerly Margaritaville): 940 Field Ave. This is not a go-go bar, but a bar/restaurant hangout. It does a brisk business and is popular with many locals. Each and every day the place is packed with people. Maybe it's their clientele that draws in a crowd or their good food or their margaritas or the women? Having ended up there on countless nights after hours, (they used to be the only place open after hours for food), I have had occasion to sample their menu. It's very extensive. You'll probably find something you like. It isn't as lively after hours as years ago. It's effected by things like Pick Up disco, but mostly by cellular phones and the internet. Girls that have regular money coming in don't need to pick up a 3 am drunk to pay the rent. "Margaritaville: (sorry, just cannot use the other name) Still the #1 the place in town happening 24/7. Service a number one. Great place to hit late if you are still out in the wee AM hours. My favorite here is the Chicken Fried Steak, also any kind of breakfast really good, also prices look the same as they have for quite a few years. Also Filipino and Thai dishes." Mikey. "The best Thai food in town." Tourist Bob. "Let me tell you, at 6 AM, the only girls hanging around MS are either the waitresses (who aren't available) or a complete bunch of dogs." Dark Knight. "Whilst munching down some Thai food who should present himself none other than the infamous Noi Noi of the now defunct Cozy Cleopatra. Noi Noi is the shift manager for the mid-shift (equal in status and pay to the foreign managers on the other shifts) and if you ever thought you could handle your shooters try your skill with Noi Noi sometime." mjibbo. "I chose the meatball sandwich and was not disappointed. Nice big soft roll, lotz of meatballs and a tasty sauce. All complimented by the very cute and friendly waitress serving us." Jimmy R. Regina (10/2002). "The place is a restaurant. The action you want is in one of those brightly lit bar places where they have scantily clad women dancing on stages. Walk down Field a few metres and you can't miss 'em. They have girls at the door to direct you if you get lost. Just ask where you can get boom-boom, they all understand that. Margarita has great food and that's what the place is for." Impeached (12/2003). "Management banned the freelancers, which used to be the charm of a late-night stop. Ownership is greedy and arrogant and the place could burn to the ground with them inside as far as I'm concerned." Longtimer (12/2003)

Now it's time to decide: Perimeter Road, Real Plaza, or Lower Field?

Real Plaza

Stinger: Hard to say what's happening here. Sometimes it's great and sometimes fair. They had a reputation for having some of the freshest young girls in town, but that's not true now. Still, you can often find a beauty in here so it's worth stopping in for a look. "The old black shorts with moth holes the size of golf balls have finally been replaced with a nice white bikini and stockings with white suspenders for the girls. Unfortunately the knee high fuck me boots so often favored by Stinger girls have been replaced by High heel shoes. They have also installed a few more black lights and Sadam has spent a little money on the upholstery. Now that really was a surprise. Best of all there was a whole lot of scrumptious new girls all nicely presented. When in Stinger make sure you try and hook up with Dallas the manager, a good guy and always fun to party with." mjibbo. "A lot of the better looking girls at Stingers seem to be cherries. There are a couple of super smokers in there that don't go with anyone. You have to go in at the right time as the lookers get snatched quick." Candyman. "I found the staff very pushy about selecting a girl and buying her a drink. I was thinking was I on Magsaysay in Subic about 20 years ago when these tactics were going on?" Bubba. "Surprised to see the old mamma from Y bar had moved here and she immediately orders me a 'San Miguel Light no condom' and a shot of Quervo. We had quite a time on my last trip to Angeles. Stinger has three different bells one can ring, one for the dancers on stage, one for the bar staff and the third for the whole crew. I have momma ring for the dancers on the stage, it's fun to here the girls yell and scream. Of course I pick tequila for the ladies and the fun begins!" Mickey

Las Vegas (formerly Abbey Road): William leased the long vacant Abbey Road, rumor says for $500/mo., and did an extensive remodel. It opened on March 17, 2001 and got off to a bad start, but is now one of the top bars in town. Remodeled again in 2003. "This is one hot bar. It outshines anything ever done in AC. It could just as easily be a trendy restaurant or disco. The layout reminds me a lot of Pick Up without the tacky decor. Round dance stage in the middle with the lights suspended from the ceiling. The artwork is fantastic and the memorabilia nostalgic. Kudos to Daddy William." Mo (12/2003)

Blueberry Hill (formerly right half of Private Dancer Too and Exotica): Open 02/2003.

Hollywood (formerly left half of Private Dancer Too and Exotica):

Suckers (formerly Octopussy, Shano's, Lollipop): Open 09/2000. Shano's is off the beaten path and easy to miss. It's changed owners again and is now the property of an American. Friday night exotic dance show and raffle. For awhile it had a very interesting lineup, but is now down to 7 girls and a couple of waitresses.

Flamingo Club: Open 12/2001. Bar located inside the grounds of the Orchid Inn. This is a nice cozy bar. Opening hours are from 3 till Midnight, but plans are to open 24 hours when enough staff is available. "I have to say that there were a few cuties dancing at Flamingo, and I wished that I had visited this bar earlier." bluewidget. "I went into Flamingo about 2 hours after it opened, there were no customers, and the girls were all sitting on the bar top with their legs resting on the stage floor looking obviously bored. Some were sitting around on barstools with their heads on their arms napping. I ordered a drink and after 15 minutes, after I asked the mamasan if the place was actually open yet, did she get up and shake up the girls to stand up and look alive." Norman (05/2002)

Black Jack: Renovated in 2000. Karaoke. Owner is a Norwegian named Atle. It attracts the German/Swiss crowd. Try the restaurant.

Sphinx: Formerly Cleopatra.

Agasya (formerly Golden Gate, Halloween, Amore): Open 09/2004. Korean owner. Bar fine P1200. "I don't usually do bar reviews - living in AC does that to ya - but what the hell... I guess the first clue that I wasn't gonna love the place was the name? G-d only knows how to pronounce it! Sort of like Bananitas, where I alwa/ys get a kick out of the door girls trying to pronounce the name... Anyway, I strolled into the place last night. Can you say airplane hanger? Can you say warehouse chic? I was ASSAULTED immediately by an ear-bleed level blast of the techno-teenbopper-rap-braindead noise that passes for "music" in some clubs. As is often the case, the bass was cranked up to about 11 on speakers THAT JUST CAN'T HANDLE the volume...my clothing and entire body started to vibrate. And if you've SEEN my body, this is NOT a pretty sight! Strike one. The place was FREEZING. Not just cold - or uncomfortable - but MEAT-HANGING-FREEZING. Strike two. Though frozen and deaf, I perservered and stepped further inside. Can you say Vegas Casino Showroom? I really only noticed the Vegas-style showroom-booth seating fronting the stage...the stage itself has a few risers, with girls displayed on tiers. The booths are so far away from the stage that you would need a flare gun or space-station-strength laser beam to get a dancers attention. Strike three. I beat a hasty retreat. Now I can't remember the last time I walked into a joint and didn't stay for at least one beverage and a LOOK at the available nubiles...so maybe I missed something? Maybe at the bar on the side and the seats way way way in the back things are happening that I didn't know about? I fled to the safety of Champagne, where my two Cherry Girls made it all better." crumple (09/2004). "My favorite bar is Agasya. In Korean, Agasya means girl. Most people won't like the bar because it's very hard to interact with the girls. The bar gives me a fishbowl feeling as you have to ask the waitress/mamasan to bring any girl over. Barfine is 1500 peso before 11pm and 1200 peso after 11pm. I went there every day but didn't barfine any girl. The mamasan (young one) and the waitress are a lot of fun. I think the lineup is excellent." Gilbert (10/2004)

Confetti's: The former Night Out. There is a large stage and often many dancers. Owner is Mal "Youngone" Brown who subleased the bar to Dags. "Confetti's is not under my control or big mal, as it is currently subleased to dags.
They do have some different policies than we do in Tom Cat, so please do not get the two bars confused." Mal "Youngone" Brown. "They had a great lineup and zero customers, for some unknown reason." Glupidio (03/2002). "Holy shit, I had so much fun in here. I bought 4 chickens for the girls and they were all very appreciative. I had quite a party going on before I left for Manila. Stewart is one crazy son of a bitch some times and insisted I help him polish off a bottle of tequila. The body shots in this place were wild. I had three girls give me the traditional treatment while the forth girl pulled my slacks down to my knees and sucked the little general like there was no tomorrow! This bar was by far the best bar for me on this trip." Progman (10/2003)

Tomcat: Open 10/2002. The old King of Diamonds. Owner Mal Brown. "Tom Cat and Confetti's are probably the worst bars. They're connected some how and me and my English mate took 2 girls from Confetti's threw the back door to Tom Cat. My mate took his girl over to the table with the manager of Tom Cat for drinks and said jokingly: much like how a dog takes on the looks of his master the girls of this bar are a lot like the manager, ugly. What ever the guys name is he didn't take it to good and scared off my mates girl yelling in Tagalog not to be found again after buying her 3 ladies drinks. My girl turned out to be a total dud in bed after being super friendly at the bar, even during the trike ride back I was tempted to turn back and get my money back when I think she saw a past bar fine when we walked out the door, wish I did. For bars lousy sound system and bad decor the girls sucked and compared to a bar like the Bird Cage which can be fun, its hard to see why anybody would sit in Confetti's. We only stayed because somebody gave us his winning raffle ticket that entitled us to 2 ladies drinks and a local, which we had to fight for and never got the local drink." Smarty (04/2003). "It's too bad they hired Shane. He's a total dick. I stopped going there because of him. When I come in and sit down with a girl, the first thing he does is try to get me to play with her tits (not all that bad) or pushes her hand up my shorts (not that bad). The problem is that I'm a big boy and know my way around a bargirl. And, he's a shitty drunk." Anon (05/2003)

Pattayaland: Formerly Marine Bar, Splash, Kosmos, Mudbones.

Cuddle's: Closed.

Okay, turning right at Santos Street, welcome to Blow Row

No longer one of the best little secrets of Angeles City, there is a full-fledged business here. Sometimes called Blow Row or Blow Job Alley, there are now 14 bars in operation. Since most are virtually the same, a general description will suffice. These are very low rent places with minimum facilities. This means no air conditioning, terrible sound system (usually a 20 year old jukebox) fair lighting, awful toilets (except Shadow Bar), and somewhere between 4 and 20 girls skilled in the oral arts. Most of the girls are either very young or on their way out to pasture. All the bars have rooms on the premises. Price for 'use' of the room with one of the girls is P500. The rooms range from ok to downright grotty. If you have nicer accommodations, the price is still P500 and the girl is expected to be back at her bar within 2 hours. But, if you're in a hurry or just want to take the edge off the afternoon or evening, it's a great place to go. Drink prices are slowly creeping up to the less expensive Fields Avenue prices. Some of the more well known places are described below. Other bars now open are (walking down A. Santos St away from Fields Ave). "Santos Street is a lot different that it used to be. True, there is still the occasional billyboy running around, but 98 percent of the workers down there are real women. The area has around 100 girls. Really. They are everywhere. Much nicer than it used to be. It's still dirty and nasty, but the selection is very nice. I make it a point of going down there any time I need some... errrrr-uggggg-aaaaaah...." Cheap Charlie (01/2002). "I have to say, the most interesting times I've had in Angeles City were on Santos after 4:00am." M Holmes (06/2002). "Santos Street (Blow Row) has just recently increased its price to 600php among all the establishments in its domain." Norman (02/2005)

Heaven Bar: 5 girls. "First stop....Santos street...get that first urge out of the way ... after arriving at the Heaven Bar on Santos I found a great little hoover named Vanessa and she took care of me in a matter of minutes... 400 pesos." Chuck. "Heaven Bar has 2 superstars working there..Louisa and Vannessa (also Arylin is quite the Hoover)." ST charlie

Black Pearl: 10 girls. These girls are a little older, but have the reputation of being very good. "Of all the bars in A Santos St the Black Pearl is my favourite. The girls never give up trying to get you to sample the joys of a BJ, but if you say no and do not weaken its not a bad spot to stop for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. Don't get me wrong have nothing against a good BJ but my needs were taken care of elsewhere. So did not feel the need to sample their special talents, others have said that the girls here are very good in this skill, as well as the two at a time offer that was made quiet a few times while I was there. For just sitting and talking as you drink a cold one this is a pretty good bar. For the guys who sometimes wants to get away from the big places on Fields Ave for a change of pace. The Black Pearl can be a pleasant change of pace no music no dancers just you and 3 or 4 girls passing the time of day away. Only once while I was their did a other customer visit the bar mostly I was the only one there." Wayne Allen (05/2002)

Stranger's Bar: (Formerly Charlies 1) - This place is hard to figure. 4 girls. One cute. The place is not inviting because the front porch has a fence covering the main window. Closed.

Shadow's Mini Bar: Located on A. Santos Street on the right side of the road as you're walking from Fields Avenue. Blow Row. I made this a regular morning stop. It was a fun place to hang out and talk with other tourists. No loud music and nobody pushing lady's drinks. The girls are very nice. This is not a fancy place. There are rooms in the back. They're small and no aircon. All the girls here specialize on licking and sucking. Some will only provide oral service, so if you want half/half (suck/screw) make that clear up front. If you see a girl you like, you talk to her a bit. Most of the girls speak very little English. Let the girl of your choice know you want to visit the back. Pay the cashier P500. You will also pay for any drinks you ordered. They don't seem to have any bathing facilities for the patrons. "It's now six in the morning and those of us still standing head down to Shadows bar on Santos Street. Now this was a pleasant surprise. Mostly the old motto 'pay peanuts get monkeys', has steered me fairly well and as such I wasn't suspecting much in terms of quality companionship. I was wrong wrong wrong. Shadows had about 15 girls five of which were as good as any of the girls in the more mainstream bars in fact two of them were gorgeous. Best of all if they are working in Shadows you just know they have enviable oral skills. To be honest a little trip to a bar in Santos Street was the high point of this particular trip and I have no hesitation recommending Shadows for at least one visit. Ok you won't get the music or the dancing but think of it as a no frills bar where what you see is what you get." mjibbo. "Love the place. The staff are absolutely GREAT." Mo. "Saw one little cutie 'A'. She wasn't very talkative but very cute. I got her a ladies drink and talked for a bit. Thought a short time was definitely in order. Went in the back and she was hesitant at first. I thought I may have an inexperienced girl but I think she was teasing me. She was slowly taking the clothes off and sucking on a lollipop seductively while she did it. She got undressed and she had a sweet little body. Nice and tight with no fat at all. She started rubbing her whole body against me. It did not take me long to be ready and pop the umbrella on. She wanted me to drive and I had no problem with that. Very nice but I was done very quickly because she was fairly tight for a short time girl. No BJ offered but I didn't ask for one either. I am sure if I would have it would have been no problem. Just a tissue to clean up and put the clothes back on. The rooms leave something to be desired. The sheets don't seem to be changed between customers. I guess being a degenerate has its little drawbacks. This place definitely reminds me of the old Subic days. Used to be a whole street of bars just like this in Subic. Normally they had the cold bucket shower in Subic. I don't know if they supply one here. I didn't ask. I figured I would go back to the hotel and get a proper shower. Prices: beer 30P, ladies drink 80P, and short time 400P. Makes for an enjoyable afternoon. If you are finicky about previous customers I would not suggest a trip to Santos." Mark T.

Wantok: (formerly of Real Street) - 4 girls. 1 is very cute and 1 ok.

Blue Parrot: 5 girls. The only Santos Street bar with a pool table.

Jazz Bar: 5 girls. They have some food as well.

A little further down the street you'll find

Flaming Bar: 4 girls.

Niagara Bar: 4 girls. Also has a small hotel.

Going back towards Fields Ave

Firestone Empire: Seems to have reverted back to mostly lady boys. "This is a typical cheap sleazy little joint with sparse furniture, no music, no aircon, an electric fan that only just works and 8 to 10 shortime rooms out the back. So what's the attraction? Try a selection of seven or eight delicious young Leyte girls all of whom have perfected their oral skills. Of special mention is the luxury VIP room out the back which can only be accessed by climbing over a rickety old ladder propped against a lahar brick wall. Try this after a few JD's and SM's especially on a dark rainy night. It's not quite the Shangrila but it does have a certain style." mjibbo. "Infamous bakla bar." Mr. Wonderful

Apollo Bar: 8 girls. The barfine pressure is very high here.

Aqua Hut: A couple of locals have rented it and turned it into a party house. They hold irregular BBQs on Sunday afternoons where they invite the Santos girls. It's a ton of fun.

Luz Bar (formerly Pink Elephant): 10 girls. The place doubles as a sari-sari (convenience store). These girls mostly  new in Angeles City.

Wow Bar: 8 girls. Dark and dingy.

Back up to Field Avenue, turning right

Dirty Duck (formerly Dolphin Street Bar, Happy Hooker): Open April 14, 2002. This bar opens early in the afternoon. They have one-way glass picture windows on the front so you can sit in aircon comfort and watch the girls strolling to work. Fairly small club with a low ceiling, but packed with dancers and waitresses. "It's been totally gutted and completely redone. The inside makes excellent use of a smaller than usual Angeles City bar. There is plenty of seating around the fairly large dance stage (holds 12 dancers quite easily) and a goodly number of perimeter bench seats. Being a converted non smoker, I pay attention, and am sensitive, to the ventilation. It can be a problem in small bars, but Dirty Duck is just fine with me. Excellent air conditioning and excellent ventilation. It looked like they had 25 or so dancers and ABOUT THE SAME NUMBER OF WAITRESSES. Boy, there are a ton of them. Thommo, the owner, assures me he'll get the balance correct one of these days. His right hand man, Wayne, is another affable Aussie and they make a very good team. The bar's open from 2 PM till 3 AM so we now have another daytime bar down at this end of town. Food's available from (where else?) Kokomo's. They have a snack and pizza menu." Mo (04/2002). "And no shit, The Duck right now is the best little bar in AC." Crumple (07/2002)

Silk Stockings: This was a bar located down a short hallway between Volcano and Treasure Island. Closed.

Treasure Island: (former names: Grandeur, Love Heart's, Cockatoo): Owned and managed by Troy. Remodeled interior looks a bit like a smaller version of Tom Cat bar. "For sure the most pussy per square foot of any bar in town." Troy (06/2004). If you want a shower show, you have to buy a shower show ladies drink for P250. The shows are very popular. The bar claims to be host to the biggest bell in Angeles City. The upstairs has been remodeled and opened as the Buccaneer Lounge. It is self contained in that it has its own bar and toilets. The dancers rotate between down and upstairs, but the upstairs is much more intimate because all 3 booths have curtains. "I only had one bad experience in Angeles City: a girl names Leah from Treasure Island. Our deal was she was to stay all night, but after getting to the room she starts talking about leaving in an hour and a half, her sister is home alone. So I told her to just go, but she did do a quickie, but no sooner than I got off, she was in the shower and getting dressed... but really no big deal." Steve (02/2004). "TI Girls are fun and they all have a great attitude. Treasure Island a nice cozy fun place in AC." Don (05/2004)

Buccaneer Lounge: Located upstairs from Treasure Island. It is self contained in that it has its own bar and toilets. The dancers rotate between down and upstairs, but the upstairs is much more intimate because all 3 booths have curtains. It is a member's club, but as yet there is no membership fee. (05/2003). "Buccaneer is open and well worth the walk up the stairs." Don (07/2003)

Bananita's (formerly Lash): Completely remodeled with the stage now in the center of the bar. 15 to 20 dancers. It can get a bit raunchy. If you don't like loud music, stay away.

Champagne: At times an excellent bar. SEXY uniforms. Located on Fields Avenue (in the former Bubba's Cocktail Lounge building), it has been one of the top clubs in Angeles since it opened several years ago. With some of the best dancers in Angeles, great management, and a computerized music system with JBL speakers, it is a "must stop" on any bar hop in Angeles City. "I noted a bunch of stunners on stage here." Sarisin. "Champagne has some spectacular waitresses who are very friendly after hours given the right persuasion." mjibbo

Welcome Inn: Opens at noon. Might be worth a quick visit. Becoming very popular from noon to 5 PM. Girls can get a little wild. "I found the bar to be ragged looking, the girls mostly 5s, at best, ZERO customers, etc. I will admit, though, a surprisingly clean CR which is important in AC. The Mamasan was nice enough but the place was REALLY lacking, in about everything, when I was there." John Galt. "I go in the place quite a bit. Recently, they had some REALLY fun cherry girls there, they have a nice pool table, they open at noon, and the pressure from the waitresses is now very low. Daytime bar-wise, I rate it second to La Bamba and slightly above Misty's. But that's just my opinion." Tourist Bob

Woody's: Closed.

Kangaroo Jack's (formerly Ayers Rock, Thunderstruck): Bar opened April 2002. The idea was to have an upscale steak restaurant combined with a go-go bar. The restaurant opened and closed twice. It's open again with only a limited meun. Music is supposed to be Rock N Roll with and Aussie flavor ie, ACDC, Angeles, etc. but at least 50% is rap, techno and metallica. Long time Thunderstruck manager Rady is running the place. "A nice lineup of ladies, no dingoes among them. I was somewhat disappointed that the dancers were not actually dancing. In my opinion, an animated dance troop is more important that Australian upholstery cloth, which, the news is, felt just the same under my arse as the local stuff. Maybe the girls did not like the music: for once, the selection and its volume seemed to be aimed at the customers rather than the staff. All in all, a very impressive piece of bar architecture and I am sure it will make a fine addition. I wonder if all the extra trimmings ever pay off? Do more people go into Volcano because there is a dinosaur on the roof? Personally, I would build a nice place with comfy seats, targeted lighting, good aircon and smoke scrubbers - but not go overboard on the minutiae of decoration and trim. Remember what we are really in there for, it ain't to admire the marble mosaics in the CR!" Mike (04/2002). "They have gotten quite a few new girls and now have one of the better lineups in town. Their pool table is absolutely gorgeous and I was almost afraid to play on it." Jung (05/2002)

Cheetah's Lounge (formerly G-Spot): Open 10/2003. Manager Noy Noy from Cozy Cleo fame. Completely remodeled and very upscale. Planned hours are 5 PM to 5 AM. "Had trouble getting my order filled, but the waitress was probably new. Like the lighting and the seats were comfy. I'll be back." Longtimer (10/2003). "Back where the G-Spot bar used to be (and previously a HUGE waste of space) is now a beautiful pool table. This is the pool table that used to be in Ayer's Rock and is arguably the best pool table in town. It is simply marvelous with real net pockets and carved wooden legs and the felt is quite superior and new undamaged pool balls. A true pleasure to play on." Jung (10/2003). "The bar is well laid out. Nice temperature, with sound system which allows you to have a conversation. Noy Noy is currently manager here and looks like they're running a good ship. Girls seemed to be in the mid to good range with a few stunning waitresses. Who gives a shit about the 1200 peso bar fine?" cathayboy (10/2003). "I really liked the layout of the bar but the girls were freakin' ugly. Sorry, Sully, but you gotta improve the talent. I had a long talk with the Mamasan about the 1200/1100p champagne scheme. She confirmed Sully's reason for the bottle and also insisted that the bar would reimburse customers if they had a girl that did not meet his expectation. She also indicated that the bar makes a point of telling the girls and customers to be sure they understand what is expected of the girl. I appreciated her efforts in trying to reassure me but deep inside I just had a funny feeling that getting my money back would be a difficult effort. All this was really a moot point to me because, as I wrote earlier, there were zero girls I would barfine from here." Progman (10/2003)

Cambodia (formerly Valentine's, Dreams): Open 08/2002. Same owner as Blue Nile, Nero's Forum, Misty's. "Cambodia club is the former Valentine's which was closed because it was in severe need of renovation. Richard holds a long term lease on the building and had no choice but to do something with it. Richard was well aware that he had limited space so he dug the floor down 4 1/2 feet to maximize the space. It is tight inside, but it is still a good bar! Cambodia will never be another Blue Nile and was not built to be compared to Blue Nile. However, it is a very unique club with great potential." James F. (08/2002). "Another class act. The place is exquisite inside. The sound system is probably the best in Angeles City! They are still building staff, but with the Misty's girls there's more than enough to go around. I would have, perhaps, made the access to the girls a little easier, but still, it's gorgeous inside." Mo (08/2002). "I went into the Cambodia bar last night and was totally unimpressed. The girls are 10 feet above your head. The place is very crowded and not from people. There just isn't much room after the bar and tables." Cherry Eric (09/2002). "Cambodia switches between the Misty's-type schoolgirl see-through costume and bikinis. They have some very nice looking girls and some stunning waitresses." Guy (10/2002). "Most improved bar in Angeles City. At least 6 hot girls working at any time and thats not including waitresses. This place can be hit or miss as it is open early and many of the 9pm shift dancers are barfined in minutes. The place is cramped downstairs so it's better to take a bunch of girls and have some fun upstairs." blazers (02/2004)

Misty's: This bar has been around for years and is usually worth a visit. "I love the sheer white tops on the dancers in the schoolgirl outfits. No mistaking the cup size here. Called one down for a drink. Cute and friendly, nice to talk to. We talked about barhopping and going back to the hotel. I finally agreed to a barfine and the mamasan came over. Right before I paid her the mamasan said "you know she is cherry girl?" I thanked her and said "no". The girl was nice but I didn't hang around long after that." Tomkat2000 (02/2002). "This place surprised me. I found 4 girls in this bar which I thought were better looking than just about every other girl in town. This bar has managed to get some real lookers. They seem to be doing good business here. Check it out." Grady Seasons (03/2002). "I love the see thru tops on the schoolgirl outfits. The first girl I asked about was cherry. The only other one who had my interest gave me a dirty look when I made eye contact. That was my cue to end my stay at one drink and I never made it back." Ohly (05/2002). Under renovation due to reopen this Fall 2002. The dancers are in Blue Nile and Cambodia.

Top Hat: Closed.

Bedrock (formerly Super Star): "The exterior has been completely redone with the now most-imitated single exterior décor element in AC today: Faux stone work. They have these unusual light fixtures out front which look like interior fixtures and seem out of place with the prehistoric/rock theme. But there I go, nitpicking again. The interior has basically the same layout as the original Superstar except the booth configuration has changed. The finishing is very nice and attractive. There seems to be more girls around, both dancers and waitresses than the original Superstar. The staff was extremely friendly with a fairly decent lineup of girls. The place had a good number of customers at the time and the atmosphere felt fun and comfortable. The bar is really nice and a welcome retreat for those wishing to take a break from the bigger bars in the vicinity. I will definitely go in there again. And yes, the mature door girl I BFd from there was terrific. Top quality personality, attitude and performance." Norman (12/2002). "Tried out my luck at Bedrock. Met a super lady. Ready to barfine. Guess what? Correct, cherry girl!!!! They have 4 cherry girls working here so be warned." Tomkat2000 (02/2003)

Nero's Forum: Open 10/00. Large bar. It's very popular. "One of the really nice places on Fields. It's bigger than Volcano and the interior is absolutely first class." Mo. "Nice lay out, way too crowded considering the poor quality of the girls who work there. After my first trip there, I would pop my head in the door to see if it was packed, if so, it was time to move on. Nuf said!" Michael. "Initial impression of  Nero's is that it's going to have a long run as the hottest club in town, just as happened to Champagne for a solid two years or so until things recently cooled a bit there. The new place impressed us as having the feel of a Bangkok bar. Meaning: The stage is set very high so that as you drink you are looking straight up at the dancers. Suspended from the ceiling are spinning disks of colored lights. Thick mist sprays from the ceiling as well, jets of smoke, enhancing the mood of excitement. The stage is situated in the middle of the reasonably large room, which is somewhat dark. Sit there to be at the center of the action. I saw one dancer who teasingly kept flashing her soft swath brown promise land by jerking down her panty bottoms. Don't blink your eyes though, or you'll miss the free treat. Booths set off by Roman columns line the walls. Sit there to cuddle in relative privacy. Experiencing this new bar gave me a good feeling. It is located near the east end of Fields Avenue, across from Misty's and close to Top Hat and Valentine's." beersam. "Nero's has also added a second shift and is open early in the afternoon (Richard calls this Phase 2).  This is a big club, but last week about 7 PM one night I was shocked when I arrived to find every bar stool and booth occupied!  Richard is doing great in Nero's and he says Phase 3 will be a even bigger change." JC. "There were lots of girls that I would rate a 9+. My only problem with this bar is that there were too many good looking girls and I wanted to come back every night and get a diffferent one but I couldn't because I stick to my policy of not taking more than one girl out of the same bar." GoArmy (02/2002). "Best atmosphere in town. Every night the place was rocking. Had a lot of fun in this bar with the girls. A few stunners here. I counted 50+ girls one night. Spent most of my time in this bar." Grady Seasons (03/2002). "On a bar hop these days Nero's and Blue Nile are a must." Kersplat (05/2002). "I tell you Nero's at 7 is the place to be. Wall to wall pussy." Terry M (06/2002)

Blue Nile: Same owner (Richard) as Nero's Forum. The interior is magnificent. Hydraulic stage, lots of girls, good music, smoke machines. The problem is that there is only one place in the bar where you can see the girls. There are a ton of dancers. The place is sometimes very crowded, but the punters are mostly drinking with each other and you don't see a lot of them sitting with dancers. This is a must see bar. "Great light show. The hydraulic stage a nice touch as the girls all dance above where you're sitting. Waitress staff here was the friendliest in town and the best looking. Spent many hours here. Always a party." WizardzSpl (01/2002). "On a bar hop these days Nero's and Blue Nile are a must." Kersplat (05/2002)

Blue Nile Executive Club: Open 12/2002. "The main bar area is spacious but still intimate. About the size of Misty's, but here the stage is in one corner. Lots of nice lighting, bright, yet easy on the eyes. The only real serious complaint I have is the floor to ceiling mirror on the left side of the stage (when you are facing it) which the girls dancing near it seem to be hypnotized by and face it most of the time (not during the choreographed dance routines, of course). There is the characteristic large screen TV which ironically was showing a live camera display of the current dancers on the pneumatic stage in Blue Nile. I guess if you somehow got bored of watching the B.N.E.C. girls, you could always watch the regular Blue Nile girls, although you can only see the center 5 girls in the front row of the stage. All this comes at a price. Drinks are 70-75 peso, LDs are 150-160 peso. I don't recall the exact figures, I just know that my mineral water plus two LDs left me about 400 peso lighter. BFs are 1100 peso. The membership program was explained to me as such: (the mamasan and other staff need to be a little smoother in their understanding and explanation of the particulars, as they seemed somewhat confused themselves, although they tried gallantly) One of the Mamasans is a cute young thing. Very sweet. used to be a waitress downstairs at Blue Nile. Platinum is 13,500 peso for four years (does anything in AC last that long anyway? ) with 4000 peso of it given to you back in vouchers that can be used to pay for your consumption in the establishment. It was not known if that includes BFs when I asked. They should really have this stuff clearly printed up, including the cost of the VIP rooms. Gold is 8500 peso for two years with 5000 peso of that consumable. Tourist Pass is 1000 peso for one week. None reported consumable." Norman (12/2002). "A big disappointment. Better looking girls at Bananitas than here! Don't know if most of their lookers from before were underage or what but it was hard to stay awake watching this sorry crew of dancers." Tomkat2000 (08/2003). "The Exec Club looked like a Richard Simmons video." Jeff (09/2003)

Juliana Theater Lounge: Located on 1st Avenue across Astral Park from Field Avenue. You should take a trike to go here. "The most overlooked establishment among the foreigners. It offers top level staff, management and hostesses. The classiest women in A.C. are definitely in Juliana! Everyone is welcome, but bring some money, they'll make you sign for everything you purchase. The food is great, the doors open at 8 p.m. offering karaoke for guests until 9:30 p.m. where live music takes place (usually the top three bands in the area). At 11 p.m during the weekdays you'll see a 7 person super Juliana model fashion show and 10-12 person modern dance show. The dance shows are well rehearsed and worth the time to stay and enjoy. Girls (Juliana staff members) drinks are P250 each. You can choose who you want sitting beside you, although you are greeted by two hostesses from the start, be insistent on who you want to sit next to you, if any. Over the past five years, I have brought my friends, dentist, wife, and business associates with me and they seem to remember all of their names over the years. I average paying around P2,000 with a few guests for a few hours, the most I've spent is P4,000 with 5 guests for 3 hours. It's well worth the trip, at least one of the nights you're there. If I enjoy the company and conversation of the hostesses, I'll tip them P500/ea as I leave. The entire staff is truly professional." Hollywood Harv (01/2002)

Dunk Shot (at Marlim Mansions Hotel): Dunk Shot moved from a relatively small bar to a very large building across the street. It's huge. Probably 10X what they had in Marlin Mansions. And here's the interesting part of the saga. They charge P100 for a local drink and I have no idea about ladies drink prices or TG fees, but am sure it's proportional to the local drink charge. Stick to Fields Ave. You'll save a bundle. Oh yea, the show consists of 1 girl dancing at a time taking 20 minutes to get her gear off.

Now to Perimeter Road in Barangay Malabanias. Tourist Bob says of these bars, "My take on them was that if you're only in town for a short time, don't bother. While there are certainly some diamonds in the rough, quality and quantity don't match Fields Avenue and the bars' atmospheres are spotty at best."

Music City: Perimeter Road bar complex. Renamed Emotions due to a dispute between the partners. Sign still says Music City, but club is Emotions. "Jungle Jim and I visited Music City last night and checked out the "Music AGO-GO Nite Club" (Music City will be adding more bars in this complex in the near future!). The Music AGO-GO Nite Club got thumbs up from both Jungle Jim and myself. It's a real nice bar, well designed, well lit, nice staff, and quite a few girls (we think it would be a good addition to the Doghouse circuit). The Music AGO-GO Nite Club is located at the Fields end of Perimeter Rd..just before the America Hotel. It's got great daytime hours..it opens at 12-noon and closes at 12-midnight. Beer P35/LDs P85/TG P1000." Smitty. "Nice layout, but the music sucked. Drinks were good, and the girls were friendly." Michael

Mustang Sally's: Closed.

H T Gees: Open 03/15/2002. Perimeter Road go-go bar at 520 Don Juico Ave. Closed.

Mirrors: Go-go bar in the Clarkton Hotel. "Hereby some facts of Mirrors Bar: Open hours from 09.00 am to 03.00 am. Dancers start at: 06.00 pm to 03.00 am. Music: by DJ and sometimes on weekends live music. Drinks: all kinds of local and import alcohol, Beer Pesos 45 and Rum Coke Pesos 45, for example. Food 24h service: Full menu. Daily at 10.00pm: Japanese Sushi plates are available for 50 Pesos per plate. Nice pool table." Gernot (07/2003)

Thi-Hi: GRO, Perimeter Road bar. "I went to a bar that I'd never been to before called Thi Hi and when I went in there it was nice. There is no dancing per se but a lot of girls to sit with you and make your stay fun and comfortable, all dressed in lingerie stockings. It was clean air-conditioned and generally a nice place. Its biggest problem is that it is far off the beaten track from the main area but then that is probably why most of the local expats like to go there. To my surprise there were a few good lookers in both places so it might be worth a stop if its not your first time in town." The Duke. "I thought I would try to hit some of the bars that I have not visited in a while. I started out at Thi Hi: This place was a little bit more than I expected in terms of class. It has a nice little disco ball in the middle of the room and the lineup was OK. No real smokers here, but what can you expect from a Perimeter bar? The atmosphere was real laid-back and they were playing old 60's music that really slow and made you want to go to sleep. Not good for a guy who is trying to get his second wind. No energy. No nothing here." Bubba

Honey Ko's: GRO, Perimeter Road bar. "A local hangout because the beers are cold and cheap and the women are warm and cheap also." The Duke. "I went to honey ko's one night and it was packed with girls and had a great lineup. Des the papasan introduced himself and seemed friendly and informative on a few questions I had about some of the girls there. There is one dancer there who is tall and has huge tits (really nice ones). A little too much on the lady drink pressure though and the waitresses can be pushy about giving you a massage. I had to practically peel two 40-year-old waitresses off of me and say no." corpsman (05/2002)

Pecos Pete's: Military expat hangout, pool table, P35 beer & local drinks, P70 lady's drink, 3-4 tables, 5-6 GRO's, no dancers, no stage.

The Other Bar: GRO, Perimeter Road bar. Owner Sgt Major John Hollis. "Next to Zapata's Mexican Restaurant is The Other Bar. This is a quiet little club with a handful of dancers run by one of the longest term Angeles expats. He hasn't wasted a lot of money on decorating, but it isn't a bad spot to kill an hour or two." JC

Garfield's: 5-6 GRO's, no dance floor/stage, zero pressure for drinks, nice decor for a Perimeter Road bar. "Owned by a Scotsman named Allan Cobb. Seems to be a decent guy, and proves that the myth about all Scots having short arms and deep pockets is not always true, as he buys drinks for his customers!!" bluewidget

Pink Pussycat: Closed.

Executive Inn: Small bar, mostly locals.

Club Rio: GRO, Perimeter Road bar. Jolly Frog has been renamed Club Rio. Nothing fancy. The dance stage is large enough to hold 6 dancers. There is a lot of seating from front to back. Some is private. The uniforms are school girl skirts with very see through tops. The quality of the girls varies from day-to-day but there are some real stunners. Ask for Angeline. This is a FUN bar. (01/2002)

Top End: Closed.

Blue Boar Inn: Located off Santol Rd. nearby the VFW, they have a small bar with a pool table plus a couple of GROs. There is a small hotel attached, so you don't have to go far to have some fun.

a steak at Mo's Steakhouse as far as I'm concerned." Mawi Mike

We talked about barhopping and going back to the
